About Me: Meet Cienna So

If you’re new here, hi. I’m Cienna, and this is the part where I try to tell you who I am without sounding like a stranger on LinkedIn.

I’m a photographer/creator based in Saint Joseph, Missouri, and spend most of my time taking pics, sharing what I know, and building communities with other creatives.

I got my start in photography after walking into Target and buying a Nikon D3500 for four hundred dollars. No plan. No clue what I was doing. But I kept showing up and learning, and somehow that camera ended up changing everything. I taught myself as I went, took on any shoot I could, and figured it out through trial and error.

Once I felt more confident in my skills, I decided to focus on one genre. In those early years, I leaned into boudoir and empowerment sessions. I loved creating a space where people felt confident, safe, and fully themselves. It felt bigger than just taking pretty photos. It was about helping people see themselves in a new way.

I began hosting monthly group photoshoots, and so many people would show up. That’s when I realized how much I loved building community. What started as a way to connect turned into something way bigger, and it’s been a huge part of what I do ever since.

These days, my work looks a little different. I still take on photo sessions, but I also started another business called Jaide & Jett Presets, where I help photographers edit more confidently using tools that actually work. I mentor creatives one-on-one, run a free Facebook group for photographers, and share weekly tips and behind-the-scenes content on TikTok and Instagram. Whether you're just getting started or have been doing this for years, I love sharing what I’ve learned in a way that feels real and actually helpful.

Outside of photography, I’ve been creating content for brands, which has opened up a whole new creative lane for me. I travel as often as I can, usually with a camera or two in my bag, and I’m always planning whatever’s next.
